RE-MAPPING HIS/ART/STORY
!OPEN CALL FOR PARTICIPATION!
Collective artwork at WIR gallery in the framework of B-Sides Gender Art Festival / 19th -26th June 2009
Parallel (art)histories, semi-fictional identities, unrealised artworks and unwritten activists tales; we are working on a collaged map of the secret stories, near-truths and phantom hero/ines of past and present centuries, that have been active agents and re-formulators in the field of artistic production; our aim is the sketching out of a multitude of significant events that have been overlooked by the hardcover version of (art)history.
The focus is on the margins of official (art)history and includes the un-categorizable, the ambiguous, the unwritten, undocumented, unarchived, the queer, the feminist, the cosmic, the pheripherical, the non-white, non-male, non-Western, the xtra-institutional, subcultural, the non-founded, THE IMAGINARY, the yet absolutely crucial stories/entities/identities/happenings/performances/artworks/ workinggroups/theories/activists/movements/coups/crashes/ manifestos/loveaffairs that existed and exist parallel to the official version of (art)history that it is constantly infiltrating and occasionally subverting. Important is not the attestability of your entry but rather that it challenges prevailing concepts of centre/periphery, Genderroles and – politics, beauty and aesthetics, margin and minority, BLACK CUBES & WHITE BOXES.
Either show up at the Gallery Tues.-Sunday 12-8 pm. 19th-26th of June or
participate online by submitting an entry containing approx. 10 lines about the main concept of your entry including Category/Title/Date/Country/Protagonists/Your name to: re_map@eurozentrik.net // all participants will be listed as authors of the work in the gallery
